Hungarian teachers to start all-out walkout in mid-March
The teachers' indefinite strike would start on 16 March. The two large unions of teachers have agreed on the services that are still sufficient, and their proposal will be discussed with government representatives on Friday, Erzsébet Nagy, a member of the national executive committee of the Democratic Trade Union of Teachers (PDSZ), told the news programme of RTL late on Tuesday.
If the dialogue with the cabinet fails to bring success, they will turn to court within the shortest possible time.
Full strike days are planned, during which childcare would not be provided everywhere.
The demands of the Democratic Union of Teachers (PDSZ) and the Teachers' Trade Union (PSZ) are:
- Settling the pay situation of teachers and non-teaching staff.
- Reducing the workload.
- Change the compulsory vaccination regulation to allow for the reinstatement of teachers who cannot be replaced in the current situation.
