Another failed auction: six-month discount Treasury bills barely sold
The ÁKK offered HUF 20 billion of the 6-month series D240124 to primary dealers. Demand was lower at HUF 10.36 billion, resulting in a coverage of 52%. In view of the modest demand, ÁKK reduced the accepted volume to HUF 7.5 billion. The yield on the securities sold varied between 9.99% and 10.3%, with an average yield of 10.24%. Today's average yield on sales was 4 basis points higher than the last auction of the same type of security. Compared to the reference yield set yesterday by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) for this maturity, today's average yield was 10 points higher.
