Hungarian ambassador in Slovakia summoned over Viktor Orbán's statement
Both Czechoslovakia (and later Slovakia) and Hungary are successor states of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. Thus nothing could be separated from present-day Hungary
the Slovak diplomatic ministry said, adding that the dissemination of such narratives, in Bratislava's view, "pointlessly contradicts good neighbourly relations and stability in our region".
The ministry stressed that any direct or indirect questioning of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Slovakia is totally unacceptable.
Therefore, we reiterate our interest in normal and peaceful relations with Hungary, respecting and taking into account our mutual sensitivities. The recent statements of the Hungarian Prime Minister do not go in this direction
the Slovak ministry underlined.
