Fuel prices to be lowered further in Hungary

The price of both petrol and diesel will be lowered in Hungary on Friday (8 December), fuel price tracking site holtankoljak.hu reported on Wednesday.

The wholesale gross list price of gasoline (Euro 95) will be trimmed by HUF 4 per litre, and the price of diesel will be reduced by HUF 5 per litre on Wednesday(8 Dec), holtankoljak.hu reported. Accordingly, we should find the following average prices at petrol stations: 

  • 95-octane petrol: HUF 573 /litre
  • Diesel: HUF 593 /litre

Compared to their mid-May lows, the price of petrol will be only 3.2% or HUF 18 per litre higher and the price of diesel will be up 9.4% or HUF 51.

However, compared to their respective peaks on 20 September, we see a 13.4% drop (HUF 89) in the price of petrol and a 13.6% (HUF 93) reduction in the price of diesel.
