Visegrad /Four Prime Ministers to hold summit in Prague
The main topics of the meeting between the Czech, Polish, Hungarian and Slovak prime ministers will be energy security, the strategic objectives of the European Union and the prevention of illegal migration, the statement said.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala will meet Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk as early as next Monday. The bilateral talks will focus on EU enlargement, the situation in Ukraine and regional cooperation on defence, energy and migration.
V4 heads of government meet at the Lichtenstein Palace and continue their discussions at a working lunch.
The Czech Republic took over the one-year rotating presidency of the Visegrad Group last July.
A rift occurred in the Visegrad Cooperation after Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. While Poland and the Czech Republic take a strongly pro-Ukraine and anti-Russian line, Slovakia under Robert Fico and Hungary under Viktor Orbán take a more reserved stance and do not supply arms to the war-torn country.
