Kremlin sends a message to Viktor Orbán: Hungary has nothing to worry about
The Kremlin's response to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's recent statement has arrived. The Prime Minister said on Tuesday:
One of the most important principles of Hungarian national security is that there should be an entity to the east of us, between Russia and Hungary. So we are also helping Ukraine for Hungarian national interests.
The statement was made at the Prague summit of the Visegrad Four - the four Central European EU and NATO members, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. He also said that Hungary did not want to reopen the common border with Russia because of its bad experiences in the past. Moscow did not wait long with a response:
We don’t see eye to eye on everything with Mr. Orbán. However, contrary to what EU officials have been persistently saying, Russia poses no threat to the countries that aren’t hostile towards Russia and don’t seek to become an anti-Russia entity. That said, concerns about that are unfounded,
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted, according to a report by TASS.
