Schneider Electric's new climate-neutral smart factory in Dunavecse, which will produce medium-voltage devices for electrical distribution equipment and create 500 new jobs, was inaugurated on Tuesday.

At the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó stressed that the new, climate-neutral plant will be the French company's fifth factory in Hungary, where medium-voltage devices for electrical distribution equipment will be produced.

The investment, supported by a HUF 4 billion non-repayable grant from the state and worth a total of HUF 31 billion, will create 500 new jobs,

he added. The products manufactured here will be supplied to several European markets, which will also contribute to increasing Hungarian export performance, the minister pointed out.

In his Facebook post, Sándor Font, the Fidesz MP for the region, noted, among other things, that the factory "will employ 500 people when production starts, but the aim is to provide around 800 jobs".

Schneider Electric's investment will ensure long-term development not only for Dunavecse, but for the entire region.

The total cost of the construction is HUF 16 billion, of which HUF 2.3 billion is government funding, the MEP added.
