Henkel is restructuring its manufacturing operations in Hungary, according to the company's press release. As a part of the transformation of its European supply chain, Henkel Consumer Brands has decided to close its factory in Körösladány.

As a result of the restructuring,

the production of liquid detergents in Körösladány will cease in the coming months, and the company plans to close the plant permanently by the end of 2024.

According to the explanatory memorandum, the decision was made necessary by the changes in consumer demand, which led to changes in Henkel's portfolio and also required adjustments to its production activities, which affected the product category of liquid detergents and cleaning agents manufactured in Körösladány.

According to the statement, Henkel's aim is to support the affected workers as much as possible during this difficult transition period. The company will work closely with the workers' representatives and the relevant authorities in the coming weeks.

The market presence of Henkel's Consumer Brands business will not be affected by this consolidation, as the products manufactured in Körösladány are not sold in Hungary, but are mainly exported to other European countries, they say.

In the future, Henkel will concentrate its Hungarian production activities at its factory in Környe, where it produces multitech adhesives.
