Residents of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county will get a discount on the M30 motorway for 2026
János Lázár said that in his capacity as minister, he decided to give a 65% discount on the price of the county sticker, which will allow motorists to use the entire 135-kilometre stretch of the county's motorway in 2026.
In his video, the minister said that at a public forum in Szikszó, which was convened in February to discuss the problems on the M30 motorway, he
agreed with the voting citizens to force Strabag to fix the defect on the M30 motorway, which has closed the section for a year.
He added that it was also agreed that those who pay tolls in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county will be compensated for this.
In his video, the minister said that
the defect will be repaired by autumn, and besides the restoration, compensation will be recovered from the contractor.
The Szikszó section of the M30 motorway had to be closed on 17 February last year after the road structure shifted in several places and the pavement cracked. Following the aforementioned residents' forum, the Ministry of Construction and Transport also announced that a roundabout in the Arnót area near Szikszó would be temporarily reconstructed to prevent the congestion that has been a frequent occurrence in the area in recent times due to closures.
