New regulations for foot-and-mouth disease: Nébih issues warning
According to Nébih,
the expanded visitor log must comprehensively record all persons entering and exiting the facility premises, as well as vehicle traffic.
The enhanced visitor log requirement has been mandated to prevent the spread and reduce the damage of diseases threatening Hungary's livestock industry, including avian influenza, African swine fever, peste des petits ruminants, and particularly foot-and-mouth disease.
The authority stated that all individuals entering the facility who are not listed on the regular attendance sheet, and all vehicles not essential for daily operations must be recorded in the visitor log on a daily basis. The facility manager/keeper/owner is responsible for maintaining complete records.
The relevant authority may impose fines if livestock owners fail to comply with the requirements outlined in the decree.
