These additional companies are exempt from the reduction in personnel costs under the amendment:

  • Paks II Nuclear Power Plant Zrt.;
  • Finatom Nonprofit Ltd;
  • Hunatom Ltd; and
  • PIP Közép-Duna Menti Térségfejlesztési Nonprofit Ltd.

This therefore means that these four companies, along with 30 others, are not required to reduce their personnel costs in 2025 compared to 2024.

Last week, a government decree ordered that 100% state-owned companies should save at least 5% of their personnel costs by 2025. These savings are mainly to be made in the areas of wages and labour costs.

At the last government information session, Gergely Gulyás said that this reduction would not affect wages; however, this contradicts the text of the legislation.
