Construction completed: new motorway connects Hungary and Croatia
On 6 October, the construction of the 5C motorway in Croatia was completed when the final five-kilometre section was handed over. Traffic will be able to use the section from Pélmonostor to the Hungarian-Croatian border from Tuesday morning.
The development has given the section of the M6 motorway between Bóly and Ivándárda international significance, as
the expressways of the two countries are now connected at the border.
This section was handed over on the Hungarian side last year.
The 5C motorway provides a direct connection to Bosnia and Herzegovina via Osijek and Đakovo. It also crosses the E70 transport corridor near the Bosnian border, connecting Zagreb and Belgrade via a four-lane road.
