HUF 50 billion energy tender could be announced at any moment, with a focus on storage and renewables
The tender, which is still in the draft stage, will have an initial budget of HUF 50 billion, HUF 25 billion of which will be exclusively allocated to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
Under the scheme,
companies can apply for non-repayable grants for energy storage systems designed to store either electrical or thermal energy.
In connection with this, there is also the possibility of increasing the capacity of renewable energy production for your own use, for example by installing solar panels, heat pumps or wind turbines.
Eligible costs include, among others:
- the purchase of energy storage units;
- the software and hardware necessary to control them;
- the installation of measurement and control systems;
- construction and design costs;
- project management, and technical inspection tasks.
Support for renewable production capacities may amount to a maximum of 30% of the total cost. The maximum total support amounts to 50% for micro and small enterprises, 40% for medium-sized enterprises and 30% for large enterprises. The minimum amount that can be applied for is 10 million HUF, and the maximum is 1 billion HUF per project.
Who can apply? The call for proposals is open to SMEs and large companies alike, provided they have completed at least one financial year and comply with environmental and public finance regulations. Companies can only apply independently; applications in the form of consortia are not possible.
When could the tender be launched?
The government had originally expected the tender call to be published in August 2025. Although this date has now passed, official statements made in recent weeks suggest that the call could be launched at any moment.
That's why you should come to the Portfolio Energy Investment Forum 2025 event on Wednesday 8 October, where
energy storage and the Jedlik Ányos Energy Programme will be the featured topics!
The forum offers participants an excellent opportunity to obtain first-hand information from government and regulatory authority representatives, as well as leading energy company representatives, about the new tender schemes that will soon be launched. Real-life market examples will also be used to show how integrating energy storage and locally produced renewable energy can provide domestic companies with a competitive solution.
