Strong business interest in 3% fixed-rate SME loans

Portfolio
Richárd Szabados, State Secretary for SME Development, Technology and Defence Industry at the Ministry of Economic Development, and Dr. Ádám Balog, Chairman of the Board of KAVOSZ Zrt., visited the VOSZ Veszprém Business Development and Széchenyi Card Programme office on 9 October 2025 to discuss business interest in fixed 3% interest rate SME financing schemes with chamber and VOSZ staff, Kavosz reported to Portfolio.

The purpose of the visit was to gain first-hand experience of customer traffic and collect feedback from businesses in the days following the programme's launch. According to local administrators, the first enquiries arrived as early as the weekend after the announcement, and interest in the programme has remained high ever since.

The government's aim is to provide small and medium-sized domestic enterprises with stable financing for their daily operations and growth. These preferential, fixed-rate loan products facilitate development under predictable conditions and contribute to lasting economic growth,

emphasised Richárd Szabados.

The rapid and intense interest in the 3% fixed-rate schemes also shows that businesses value predictability. This programme helps to ensure that decisions relating to development are made under secure and transparent conditions,

added Ádám Balog.

The interest shown by businesses is encouraging: it indicates that domestic SMEs are ready to develop and are confidently planning for the future with favourable financing conditions.
