According to a report by TASS, Russian President Vladimir Putin said:

Despite the "current difficulties", relations between Hungary and Russia are constantly improving, and Viktor Orbán's attitude is "pragmatic".

Trade between the two countries has grown slightly over the past year, increasing by 7% despite the sanctions.

Although energy cooperation between Hungary and Russia is "extensive and close", there are "problems" that need to be discussed.

According to Putin, Viktor Orbán's attitude towards Ukraine is "balanced", and Russia is grateful for Hungary's willingness to host the peace summit in Budapest, which is intended to end the war.

Putin also mentioned that Budapest had been recommended as a venue by President Donald Trump.

According to RIA Novosti, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán discussed the development of Russian–Hungarian relations and the prospect of peacemaking.

We hope that the recent peace initiatives will ultimately lead to peace,

said Viktor Orbán.

This is the fourteenth time that I have met you. I believe that, at this historic moment, we have achieved a great deal in developing cooperation between our peoples. I sincerely hope that we can achieve even more,

he added.

Although there will be no press conference, information may be released later regarding the specific agreements, if any, that were reached between Budapest and Moscow.
