Hungarian tile maker Zalakerámia announced on Tuesday that András Walter and Daniel Romeyer have resigned their memberhip in the company's Board of Directors on 18 October. Zalakerámia's chief executive Péter Márton said after an extraordinary general meeting on Monday that the company's key objective was to boost its operating margin.
Márton refused to comment the company's potential withdrawal from the bourse.
The CEO said the due diligence of Zalakerámia was underway, adding that and next year's business plan would be ready by the end of November. In this they would focus on achieving a 5% larger operating margin than this year. The company's operating margin is extremely low in international comparison.
Besides trying to enhance cost efficiency, Zalakerámia will also have to boost sales, Márton said, adding that to this end they would strive to reduce imports in the coming years.
Márton refused to address the company's stock exchange presence, saying that owners will have to bring a decision whether to delisting the company or not.
