Hungary's leading drugs firm Richter posted HUF 11.35 billion net profit for the fourth quarter of 2004, a 24.3% rise over HUF 9.14 billion in October-December 2003. CEO Erik Bogsch said on Friday that he expected a 10% rise in EU sales and a 10-15% expansion of exports to the CIS.
Bogsch told a press conference after the release of the preliminary report that sales in the European Union should rise by 10% in euro terms and sales in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were to go up by 10-15% in dollar terms this year.

In the United States, Bogsch added, sales would not be much different from 2004 levels, while in Hungary a small growth can be projected.

“In Hungary, there will be some kind of growth...but only minimal," he said, adding he could not give a precise forecast.
