Hungary OTP keeps buying own shares

After buying own shares for over 1 billion forints on Tuesday, Hungary’s OTP Bank has purchased own shares for HUF 1.2 bn on Wednesday.
Hungary’s largest bank by assets announced on Thursday that - in line with an AGM resolution on 17 April - it purchased 200,795 own shares at an average price of HUF 5,938 per share on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) on 20 May. The total value of the transaction is HUF 1.2 billion.

Accordingly, the total number of treasury shares at OTP Group changed to 3,863,211 common shares. (Within that, the number of treasury shares at OTP Group members outside the mother company was at 2,073,560 as of 30 April 2015) All in all, the treasury shares account for 1.38% of the Bank’s registered capital.

Turnover in OTP shares amounted to HUF 4.28 bn yesterday, which means the transaction by OTP contributed more than a quarter of total turnover.
