Hungary Mol calls of hunt for Slovenske Elektrarne
Fasimon’s key remarks in the interview were the following:
- Mol has notified Italy’s Enel the other day that considering the previously announced terms it cannot take further steps to acquire a 66% shareholding in Slovenske Elektrarne;
- As regards the outlook on oil prices, Mol expects a slow rise for the coming years and it will adjust its actions accordingly;
- The major drop in oil prices made its impact felt in motor fuel prices too, but in terms of gasoline prices Mol has a limited manoeuvring room;
- The low oil price environment makes not only companies but also expertise cheap to buy;
- Mol projects a bright future in petrochemicals and that is why it has been encouraging a greater integration. It was to this end why TVK was delisted from the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE);
- Mol wants to sustain the current position of its local retail network and it is now testing how its efficiency could be improved;
- The goal on the domestic market remains to dampen the decrease in production as much as possible;
- Fasimon hopes that shale gas extraction can be a realistic possibility in Hungary too;
- Regarding the approaching elections in Croatia Fasimon noted that Mol optimises its operation not on governments rather than on strategic objectives. From this point of view everyone should be considered as partners, he added.
