Which Hungarian brokerage had the largest turnover in August?
European market indices stagnated, experiencing only minor fluctuations. This was influenced by factors such as political uncertainty in France and developments in the technology sector, for example Nvidia's performance. By the end of August, investors were primarily focused on US economic data, Federal Reserve decisions and geopolitical and corporate news, such as half-yearly reports.
The BUX index rose by 1.3% to close the month at 102,554.6 points, marking another historic high in terms of monthly closing values.
The average daily turnover on the Hungarian stock exchange was HUF 15 billion in August, with total monthly turnover reaching HUF 603.8 billion — 29% higher than in the same month last year.

OTP Bank continued to generate the highest turnover, with HUF 195.8 billion of its shares changing hands during the month — accounting for almost 65% of the total. Energy group Mol came second with HUF 39 billion, while pharmaceutical manufacturer Gedeon Richter achieved a turnover of HUF 37.1 billion, representing shares of 13% and 12%, respectively.
In the ranking of investment service providers, Wood & Company took first place again in August, following July, with a turnover of HUF 161.9 billion. It was followed by Concorde with HUF 132.4 billion, while Erste came in third with HUF 117.6 billion. Together, the three accounted for nearly three-quarters of total market turnover.
