First downtown outlet plaza in Hungary to open in early 2012
In early 2012 a new retail format, a multi-level Outlet Plaza will open its doors in central Budapest. The 10,000-square-metre retail centre is a new retail format in Hungary, as outlets are usually located outside of the city. Grand Fashion Outlet (GFO) is located on Róbert Károly ring road, between Váci and Lehel út, in the place of the former home furnishings based Material Center.
“The facility will operate with around 50 shops, handed over to tenants in a high level fit-out condition, allowing them to open with a relatively low investment" - said Anita Csörgő, Director of Retail Agency at Colliers International Hungary.
According to the developer the customers will find well known brands for reduced prices, offering 30-70% discounts. Based on the plans, the Grand Fashion Outlet will provide a selection of fascinating inventory for every generation. The Outlet Centre will host women's, men's and children's fashion and specialty stores for jeans, underwear, sporting goods, shoes, bags, and accessories. The air-conditioned outlet building also hosts indoor as well as outdoor parking, a restaurant, cafe. Further strengthening visitor numbers are the already successfully operating G1 Gokart track, the Fitness Factory fitness center on 2,000 sqm and the Mec Event Conference Center also operating on 2,000 sqm.
The location is easily accessible by public transport, noteably the No. 1 tramway line on the ring road and is a five-minute walk from the Váci út metro station. Customers can easily reach the highly visible location by car from the nearby M3 Highway and from Buda across the Árpád bridge.
Portfolio.hu asked what brands will most likely be hosted featured in the new GFO, but we have not received an answer from the exclusive agent that cited a non-disclosure agreement. We believe new information in this regard will be available as deals with tenants are made. Opening of the outlet was originally scheduled for the autumn of 2011.
