Debrecen airport shut down for at least a week
The highest standards of aviation safety are being observed, therefore, the temporary closure of Debrecen International Airport has been decided until the damage is repaired, the operator said.
Depending on weather conditions, it will take at least a week to fix the problem, it added.
All partner airlines operating scheduled and charter flights have been informed of the temporary closure. This is to allow airlines to make their decisions on rescheduling flights as soon as possible and to inform the travelling public.
Passengers travelling to and from Debrecen are asked to check with airlines and travel agents for information about their flights.
Meanwhile, news portal Dehir.hu reported that the flight from Eindhoven to Debrecen landed in Budapest, and a passenger reported that the flight from Istanbul to Debrecen was also diverted to the capital.
