COVID-19 in Hungary: 870 new cases on Monday

Hungarian authorities confirmed 870 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total since March to 329,721. The death toll rose to 10,080 after the disease claimed the lives of 103, mostly elderly or chronic, patients, the official government website said.

In line with the trend of recent days, the number of new cases was again below 1,000 as only 870 cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours. The total number of positive cases since March has reached 329,721.

The number of tests applied in the past 24 hours was more than 27,000, the highest since 18 December. The positivity rate was slightly above 3%.

The disease claimed the lives of 103 coronavirus patients in the past 24 hours, most of them elderly or chronic. The total number of fatalities in Hungary is now 10,080.

The number of active cases is also dropping and is now at 143,065.
