COVID-19: 300 new cases on Monday

Hungarian authorities diagnosed 294 new coronavirus cases on Monday, and there were 16 fatalities, the official government website said Tuesday morning.

Hungarian authorities diagnosed 294 new coronavirus cases on Monday, increasing the total since last March to 825,170. This is a 11% increase from a week ago, and the seven-day rolling average is also on the rise.

There were 16 fatalities in the past 24 hours, twice the previous Tuesday morning figure and the highest daily amount since June. The total number of casualties since the pandemic began is 30,246.

The number of people who require hospital treatment is also rising. As of Tuesday morning, there were 585 coronavirus patients in hospital and 86 of them were on ventilators. As the number of new cases increases during the fourth wave, the number cases with severe symptoms is also growing.
