Number of foreign visitors slightly down in June

In June 2018, the number of nights spent by international tourists decreased by 1% and that of nights spent by domestic tourists increased by 0.2% compared to the level a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday. Unfavourable weather conditions and the fact that in contrast to the previous year, there was no long weekend in June this year may have played a role in the drop. Total gross revenues grew by 6.7% at current prices in accommodation establishments.
In January-June 2018, retail accommodations saw a 5.3% growth in tourism nights and a 10% rise in gross revenues compared to the same period of 2017.
