Hungary Mol to raise fuel prices sharply on Wednesday

Hungarian oil and gas group Mol will raise the wholesale list price of 95-octane gasoline by HUF 6 per litre and the price of diesel by HUF 5 per litre as of Wednesday, local newswire MTI has learned from market sources.
  • The average price of gasoline and diesel will be HUF 365 and HUF 368 per litre, respectively.
  • The last time Mol changed the price of gasoline was on Friday, when it upped the price of gasoline by HUF 4 to HUF 359 per litre, while the price of diesel has not changed since 9 March.
  • Motorists may find differences of up to HUF 50 per litre at the pumps, depending on the location and pricing strategy of the given petrol station.
  • The average price of gasoline reached its peak in early April 2012 at HUF 451 and the price of diesel was the highest at HUF 449 on average in mid-January 2012.
