COVID-19 in Hungary: 1,860 new cases on Thursday

Hungarian authorities confirmed 1,860 new coronavirus (COVID19) cases on Thursday, increasing the total since last March to 383,735. The death toll rose to 13,543 after the disease claimed the lives of 99, mostly elderly or chronic, patients. The number of active cases is now 80,672. There are 3,828 coronavirus patients in hospital, with 299 of them on ventilators. As for vaccination, 310,448 people have received the first shot and 120,649 the second one as well, the official government website said.

Since the first outbreak last March, 383,735 Hungarian citizens have been confirmed as infected with the coronavirus.

In the past 24 hours, the number of new cases was 1,860.

With the death of 99 coronavirus patients, most of whom were elderly or had underlying chronic diseases, the total number of fatalities is now 13,543.

The seven-day moving average of both new cases and fatalities is on the rise.

There are 3,828 people being treated in hospital and 299 receiving artificial ventilation.

The number of recoveries is 289,520 and that of active cases is down to 80,672.

19,439 test were applied yesterday, 9.6% of which were positive.

Vaccination is progressing steadily as 310,448 people have received the first does of the coronavirus vaccine and 120,649 of them have already received both shots, for a vaccination overage of 1.23%.
